Been fairly quiet on the journal front for a while, so I figured I'd give a shout out.  Hi!!

So, what's new?  I've got a whole lot of nothing here.  Haven't picked up my camera in a few months for fun, only for work.  At least until last night when I finally had the clouds and the full moon to do a double exposure that I wanted.  Super excited about that.  Otherwise it's just been behind the lens for work, photographing cell phone cases and blankets. :faint: Joy.  Whatever, it's work and I get to do it behind a camera.  Not much to complain about.  Still looking for a teaching position, though.  It's more difficult than you would imagine. Ohh well!

Otherwise, my plotting mind might attempt to go out west again in June to NM and CO.  Visit a few friends.  What I really wanna tackle is Maine coastline.  Perhaps in the fall.  Outside of the states, my thoughts turn to Newfoundland and Laborador.  Maybe I can set aside some time in the winter, put some snow tires on my Jeep, get a good gas can rigging system together, and go in pursuit of auroras.  Who knows?  I'll have to live on granola and ramen noodles from now until then to do it. :P

Nothing else here.  Just putzing around.  Still trying to edit through Alaska, so I'm gonna head back to that.  I think I'll be able to make good editing time once I'm passed this folder.  I didn't take a whole lot of photos when I went to New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, and Australia.  I was underwater for most of it. :D  Sheesh, imagine the day I get an underwater rig?  The world will be mine!!! :aww:

Anyways, hope you are all well and happy!

Thanks for reading! :highfive:

Movie Review: The Exorcist Directed by: William Friedkin - William Peter Blatty wrote a novel in 1971 called The Exorcist and between you and me it is probably one of the more horrifying reads to ever hit the shelves. It was based on the actual exorcism case of Robbie Mannheim which occurred in the later 1940s. Although the victim was a boy there were two priests involved who were associated with the Catholic Church and the mother was the one to plead with them to analyze and then exorcise what it was that started to control her son. Like most stories based on truth (or maybe a version of truth in this case) the author took what he could find and exacerbated the situation to provide for a more exciting and terrifying read. Two years later William Friedkin would take Blatty's book and transform it into a film that startled audiences worldwide.

The Exorcist, the film, more closely follows Regan's mother instead of Regan herself. Although Regan, the possessed little girl, gets a great deal of screen time, her mother is the one we follow in her desperate attempts to diagnose her daughter through science and then through the church.

Made in 1973 it is a wonder this film even made it to the big screen. Horrific scenes of Regan's descent into a darker, abysmal control of the demon within startles audiences even today. In this edition several more scenes are added, one of which is the impressive special effect of Regan walking down the stairs backwards on her hands and feet. The animal like behavior was perhaps more startling than the famous spinning head scene.

All in all the story is phenomenal, the drama and terror reigns supreme, and the fantastic use of special effects for the time period gets hearts racing and minds racing even faster.   :star::star::star::star::star:

"Every person who was or will be has a song.  It isn't a song that anybody else wrote.  It has its own melody; it has its own words.  Very few people get to sing their own song.  Most of us fear that we cannot do it justice with our voices, or that our words are too foolish or too honest, or too odd.  So people live their songs instead."
