Hello everyone!

So, during my free time me and my boyfriend (whose YouTube channel I used) have put together, basically, a dive video from all my diving in October.  It details the Tahitian Islands, Fiji, Australia, and New Zealand.  There are lots of sharks (including a close encounter with one of the top most aggressive sharks in the world, a Bull Shark), fish, coral, swim-throughs, and other miscellaneous images and videos during the trip.   It also has a super, duper ending that will make many a geek jealous, especially considering the upcoming movie!  You'll know what it is when you see it. :D

Please dedicate the time (15 minutes) to watch, listen, and experience some of what I got to see during my trip.  I greatly appreciate it!

Thanks for reading! :highfive:

Book Review: Soul of Fire Written by: Terry Goodkind - Book five of the Sword of Truth series finds us facing something that I could not take seriously. A chicken. A very dangerous chicken. Honestly? I could have understood if it was to show that the chimes could inhabit other living beings, but that wasn't even the case for the rest of the book. The chimes are just these three malevolent presences that work in tandem and use their respective elements (fire, water, and wind) to kill. I wish Goodkind would have reduced these pages down to a bare minimum and perhaps extended the ending a bit. Regardless, the chimes were unknowingly released by Kahlan in the previous book to save Richard's life. Doing so has magic dying everywhere, either within people, people themselves, or otherwise. This causes a great deal of problems and issues within the world Goodkind has created.

Within the story Du Chaillu returns. I was pleasantly happy for her presence since Goodkind's regular flair for humor diminished a bit throughout this book. Her return made for some interesting moments and some giggle-worthy interchanges between herself, Kahlan, and Richard. She joins them on their quest to stop the chimes from killing all magic and all people in the world, a typical storyline and, therefore, not exactly interesting.

The focus of the book is on Anderith, a city dominated by a Sovereign (who is supposedly as close to the Creator as you can get), a Minister of Culture, and his subordinates. It also seems dominated by feasts. You can't go ten pages without tripping over one. This location is where, oddly enough, all the important chatter happens in the superior levels of the court. Granted, even though this is an unbelievable scenario, it did make for a need for clever words and carefully worded phrases. The focus there is on the impending Imperial Order and Richard's request for them to join the unity of D'Hara and the Midlands. Among the elite is a character named Dalton Campbell, by far my favorite character of the book. A conniving, quick-witted, long-sighted, albeit rash, individual who plays his cards carefully and often refers to his knowledge as a spider web. Despite how he is not on the side we're rooting for, we can't help but root for him; which makes him more interesting! Goodkind uses this effectively, to say the least. I wish there were more characters like him.

Another favorite token of the book is that Goodkind throws some sand in the face of democracy, reminding us always to be vigilant of choices that we make. The ending to the book is also a nice one, in reference to the very last page. Otherwise, as typical to Goodkind, the ending is quick and normally rushed.

Unfortunately that's about all I can say that's strictly positive story-wise for the book. It is in the typical bi-polar character way that Goodkind uses and very dramatic at times, but it reads quickly and easily. Every character has their part to play, even if that part is flimsy and silly. It's an easy book to follow and fits in like the rest of the series. Of coures, it's also getting rather repetitive in its structure and story. I doubt Book six will be much different but I, for one, am dedicated now.   :star::star::star::star-empty::star-empty:

"Yo, ho, haul together,
Hoist the Colours high.
Heave ho, thieves and beggars,
Never shall we die.

The king and his men
Stole the queen from her bed
And bound her in her Bones.
The sea be ours
And by the powers
Where we will well roam.

Yo, ho, haul together,
Hoist the Colours high.
Heave ho, thieves and beggars,
Never shall we die.

Some men have died
And some are alive
And others sail on the sea
With the keys to the cage
And the Devil to pay
We lay to Fiddler's Green!

The bell has been raised
From its watery grave
Do you hear its sepulchral tone?
We are to call to all,
Pay heed the squall
And turn your sail toward home!

Yo, ho, haul together,
Hoist the Colours high
Heave ho, thieves and beggars,
Never shall we die!"
